About the Living Planet @ Work Awards

The Living Planet @ Work Awards recognize the efforts of champions and companies that go the extra mile to drive sustainability and support conservation at their workplace. We are recognizing the efforts of those who are leading an insurgency within their companies to raise awareness and spark employee behaviour change toward helping people and nature thrive.

Who Can Apply?

  • Individuals that work in Canada and organizations that operate in Canada are eligible to apply.
  • Individuals must be signed up as Living Planet @ Work champions to be eligible. Sign up to become a Living Planet @ Work champion here.
  • Projects, initiatives and achievements listed in the application must have occurred between Sept 1. 2018 and Aug. 31, 2019.

2019 Award Categories

Workplace Champion of the Year

This award is given to a Living Planet @ Work champion that has demonstrated exceptional initiative, perseverance and creativity to raise sustainability awareness and reduce their organization’s environmental footprint.

Corporate Conservation Achievement Award

The deadline to submit this application has passed.

This award is given to an organization for implementing workplace initiatives that have demonstrated exceptional results for conservation in Canada (e.g. Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, native planting activity, volunteering for WWF-Canada, etc.). Workplace initiatives considered for this award are non-fundraising related.

Distinction in Workplace Giving for Nature

This award recognizes a company who has demonstrated excellence and creativity in supporting WWF-Canada through employee giving efforts (e.g. the CN Tower Climb). There is no application required for this award.

Award Recipient Benefits

Award recipients will get the opportunity to:

  • Showcase initiative to their manager, senior management team and colleagues;
  • Set an example of environmental responsibility within and outside of their organization;
  • Inspire other Living Planet @ Work champions;
  • Share their story through WWF-Canada’s national communications channels.
  • Be recognized on-stage at our Annual Supporter Recognition Event in October
