Excellence in Environmental Engagement

Winner: Loblaw Companies Limited

Loblaw Companies Limited generously funds two impactful conservation projects that help to protect thousands of lakes, rivers, streams and wetlands in Canada: the Loblaw Water Fund and the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup. Through this partnership the company has empowered its own employees to take conservation action - with 75 employees engaged in Loblaw Water Fund projects and 1,100 employees participating in 67 shoreline cleanups last year. In April, over 30 Loblaw employees joined the CN Tower Climb for Nature and raised $8,000 for wildlife conservation. During Earth Hour, Loblaw dimmed an entire network of stores, and has worked hard to remove approximately 11 billion plastic bags from its stores since 2007. With a dedicated employee base including senior leadership commitment, Loblaw is dedicated to finding sustainable solutions for our planet.
